Introduction Freightnet is the leading transport and freight forwarding company in the Northwest of Russia and was founded in 1992. We have been successfully trading since then and doing business with many other countries. Mainland Russia We have a strategically important geographical location with access points available at the sea ports of St. Petersburg, Vyborg port, unfrozen Murmansk port and others. We also have 8 border crossing railway stations with Baltic states and Finland. All these have the same railway gauge width which means our trains can move freely into other countries without having to de-train and re-load goods at a border. Our main office is just 200 kilometres to the border with the extremely important European Union. We have representative offices in 13 cities of Russia, CIS and other countries. We are an associated member of FIATA and have the right to issue Bill of Lading and receipt. We are an ordinary member of Russian Association of International Forwarders. We have excellent contracts with Railways Authorities of Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, the Baltic states, many states in Central Asia and Finland. Quality that is recognised In 1998 we became a Certified ISO 9002 company and we are very proud of that status - you can be confident that if you use our company that not only will your freight be handled in the way you would expect but that we will also make sure that the paperwork is completed in its entirety so that you will not have problems with Customs officials and other border officials. Security We have bonded terminals at most of our centres so you can freely ship goods without worrying about the contents being interfered with. We have inspection centres at every terminal and we have good links to customs (most are now EDI rather than the old fashioned telex or fax!) We use a state of the art wide area network comprising some 300 computers and we insist on paperless communication within the entire company (although, as mentioned above, we can produce all the paperwork that the legal authorities in your country will require). As part of our commitment to enhancing your experience of our service our computer system now provides web access to the state of your goods; you can follow them across the world in almost real-time and gain detailed information about what's happening whenever they stop at customs posts etc. Air Freight We are now using air freight for an increasing amount of our cargo; last year we shipped over 7000 tonnes of goods, much of it perishable, none of it arrived late or damaged - and we are very proud of this; we think we are the only company in our area to have any where near this record! Indian Expansion In India we now have offices in the following towns and cities: Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, Madras, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kanpur, Cochin, Baroda and Goa and we are looking to expand to cater for the huge upsurge in trade which is now taking place in India. Service Outline Good Rates Low Handling Fee Rounds Planning Bankers Draft Currency Exchange We offer competitive rates for weight or bulk of shipments whether they are in mainland Europe or the rest of the world. Although we have a standard rate (handling fee) per consignment we are always prepared to negotiate this fee and in exceptional circumstances it will be waived. We will take care of all rounds planning to make sure that urgent deliveries arrive in a timely fashion; this is why so many producers of foodstuffs trust us to handle all of their goods. You can be sure that if you use our services that our lorry drivers are working reasonable hours and are paid at the appropriate rate. We recognise trade unions in all relevant countries and negotiate with them. All our vehicles are fitted with tachometers which are checked regularly to make sure that the drivers are working properly. We will take care of all bankers drafts and other payment notes; you make one single payment to us and we will handle all other payments, including currency exchange. We are fully geared up for trading in the Euro (and will issue all bills in Euros unless otherwise specified)
